Inspiration behind the pelican
The Blue Pelican Gallery & Atelier is a testament to the enduring dialogue between the shore and the soul. Founded by Suzi Long, the gallery serves as a sanctuary for coastal expression, capturing the fleeting moments where light meets the Pacific horizon.
After twelve years curating the World of Suzi Long - a play on the William Holden movie you might be old enough to remember -- a new space captured the attention of this prolific, award-winning artist, and Suzi Long's Blue Pelican Gallery~Atelier came home to roost on November 16, 2025,
A variety of artwork is on display for the month of March, including beautiful textiles and structural ceramics, clever funky furniture from a local craftsman, and Suzi's paintings in pastel and watercolor and acrylic. All Suzi's artwork is 10% off every First Friday. The pelican theme is playful throughout the gallery in cards, painted stools, and prints.

Feathered FEETures
Feathered FEETures hatched in 2021 in Santa Cruz when I spent my off days walking the beach and watching white egrets with bright yellow feet darting through the shallow surf. and One day I imagined those quick little feet in yellow shoes, then in all kinds of shoes, and sometimes fishnet stockings, and the idea grew grew.
Today the collection includes over 100 different birds, each one stepping out in its own personality and perfectly chosen footwear... AND, each bird has its own poem! This first flock of six now nesting on my website, may just bring a smile to your face.
